Flipping office PCs in the UK
By Artem Kulyk, founder of PathAu · Updated 27 October 2026 · Numbers from PathAu's own data, refreshed daily
Ex-office PCs are the quiet earners of flipping: cheap to buy, steady to sell, easy to post. They sell as whole machines, so the price comes from the processor generation, the size, memory and the SSD.
Across 1,507 sales, a 10th gen machine sells for about +54% more than the same 8th gen one, 12th gen about +137%.
In the last 30 days PathAu found 66 office PCs listed at least £30 under what they sell for (median gap £68).
What to look for
- 8th gen Intel or newer — runs Windows 11, sells far better than 6th–7th gen.
- Micro / Tiny models (OptiPlex Micro, EliteDesk Mini, ThinkCentre Tiny) sell for a little more and post cheaply.
- Adding an SSD or memory is the easiest way to add value.
- Skip "barebones", "no HDD/no RAM" unless you have the parts, and BIOS-locked machines.
