# Is PC flipping profitable in the UK?

Short answer: there are underpriced used PCs every day, the typical gap is worth having,
and the good ones sell within minutes. Here is what the last 30 days of UK listings show.

By [Artem Kulyk](https://pathau.co.uk/about/), founder of PathAu · Updated 27 October 2026 · Numbers from PathAu's own data, refreshed daily

## Key numbers

- **132,688** used PC part sales on eBay UK in our price ledger since 8 June 2022.
- about **3,083** new used PC and part listings a day on eBay UK, Gumtree, Vinted and Facebook Marketplace.
- **862** listings in the last 30 days priced at least £30 under what their parts sell for, after costs; median gap **£83**.
- of the 206 we tracked, **90%** were gone within an hour and **60%** within 10 minutes.

## Whole PCs vs graphics cards

| Kind | Underpriced listings, 30 days | Median gap to parts value |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Whole PCs | 540 | £101 |
| Graphics cards | 322 | £60 |

"Underpriced" = parts worth at least £30 more than the asking price after postage and fees.
Obvious errors (parts worth more than 2.2× the price) are left out.

Whole PCs leave more room because sellers price the box, not the parts inside it; about 43,770 used
desktop PCs were listed in the categories we watch in the last 30 days. Graphics cards are easier to check and
resell, so their gaps are smaller and close faster.

## What eats the margin

- Fees: none for private sellers on eBay UK since October 2024; a category-based percentage plus a fixed fee for business sellers.

- Postage: £10–20 to send a whole PC, less for parts.

- Time: testing, cleaning, photographing and answering buyers.

- Misses: a part that turns out faulty, a buyer return, a listing gone before you message.

## The real constraint is speed

Speed matters more than anything else: of the underpriced listings we tracked in the last 30 days, 90% were gone within an hour and 60% within 10 minutes. If you check by hand, you mostly see what
is left. That is why flippers use alerts — see [deal alert tools for UK
PC flippers](https://pathau.co.uk/guides/best-deal-alert-tools-uk/).
