# About PathAu

PathAu is a UK deal-alert service for people who buy and resell used PCs, PC parts, consoles and
MacBooks. It checks every new listing on eBay UK, Gumtree, Vinted and Facebook Marketplace, prices it from what the same things actually sold
for — PCs part by part, consoles and MacBooks by model (MacBooks by memory and storage), office PCs as whole machines —
and sends the underpriced ones. PathAu Build does the same for people buying parts for their own PC.

## Who runs it

PathAu is built and run by Artem Kulyk, a sole trader in Inverkip,
Scotland. He built PathAu's pricing engine and marketplace scanners, and answers support email himself.

## Where the numbers come from

- A ledger of **132,688** used PC part sales on eBay UK since 8 June 2022, across 9 categories.
Each part's price is the median of what it sold for, refreshed as new sales come in.

- About **3,083** new used PC and part listings a day from eBay UK, Gumtree, Vinted and Facebook Marketplace, each split
into its parts and valued on arrival.

- Every price we use is public: [used PC part prices](https://pathau.co.uk/prices/), [consoles](https://pathau.co.uk/prices/consoles/),
[MacBooks](https://pathau.co.uk/prices/macbooks/), [office PCs](https://pathau.co.uk/prices/office-pcs/) · method: [how we price](https://pathau.co.uk/prices/how-we-price/).

## How PathAu makes money

Subscriptions — PathAu Live at £10 a month and
PathAu Pro at £25 a month — and eBay Partner Network affiliate links, which pay a small commission from eBay's
fee and don't change the price or the estimate. We don't sell data and don't run ads on the site.

## What we don't do

We don't promise profit, we don't message sellers for you, and
we don't hide listings that look too cheap — we flag them.
